Metrics details

The modification of a commonly used fabrication process allows the realization of nanofiltration membranes with improved selectivity and permeance.

The treatment of water and wastewater helps to increase the source of freshwater, prevent environmental and groundwater pollution and soil degradation. Membrane operations are sustainable methods of obtaining fresh water from unconventional sources. In particular, nanofiltration (NF) is a commonly used water treatment process that is considered appropriate for the removal of divalent ions and low molecular weight neutral organic molecules (>200 Daltons) — monovalent ions require reverse osmosis.
